German Castles allows players to use double-sized tiles during the game rather than placing a regular tile. The tile scores like a cloister but is worth 12 points when completely surrounded!
In addition, if a city or road is completed during the game that connects to a castle tile, 3 additional points are also scored.
The mini expansion is brand new and contains 6 double-sized landscape tiles featuring artwork of some of the most beautiful castles in Germany: Königstein Fortress, Eltz Castle, Konradsheim Castle, Rieneck Castle, Wartburg and Bentheim Castle.
The printed English rules are included. The newest Carcassonne artwork from 2022 is featured, playable with both the original and new versions of the base game.
